Zetta Freeman Parks

Zetta Parks, 92, passed away September 19, 2026 at Chatham Nursing and Rehab in Elkin after an extended illness.

Zetta was born March 7, 1934 to Jesse Monroe Freeman and Flossie Belle Newman. She graduated from Elkin High School and attended Mitchell College. She was a devoted wife and mother to her husband and children and an active member of First Baptist Church in Elkin.

Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Dr. Eldon Parks and her daughter Denise Parks Crater.

She is survived by her daughter Beth Parks and husband Bill Hall; niece Cathy Albergo and husband Frank; nephew John Hollar III and wife Susan; nephew Tommy Hollar; and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted Thursday September 24, 2026 at 1:30pm at Hollywood Cemetery in Elkin with a memorial service to follow at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Elkin conducted by Rev. Mark Reece and Rev. Dr. Bill Johnson. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Chatham Nursing and Rehabilitation, Mountain Valley Hospice, and the private sitters for their compassionate care and support.
