Mr. Thomas R. Dent, Jr. 70, died Sunday July 24, 2016 at Westwood Hills Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Dent was born in Bloomington, IN. to Thomas R. and Phyllis Tomlinson Dent.   He was a graduate of University of Texas at El Paso and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Elkin.

Mr. Dent is survived by his wife, Mary Waring Dent of the home, two sons Rich and Jimmy Dent both of Pasadena, MD. One granddaughter Reagan Dent. Two brothers, David Dent of Norfolk, VA and Brad Dent of Tampa, FL

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 27, 2016 at First United Methodist Church by  Rev. Mark Barden.  Burial will be in White Plaines Friends Meeting House Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
