Paulette Elaine McCauley

Paulette Elaine McCauley of State Road, NC, formerly of Lakeland, FL; Windsor, MA; Amherst, MA; Florence, MA; Springfield, MA; Dalton, MA and Silver Spring, MD, passed peacefully at the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice House, Dobson, NC at the age of 72 from heart failure.
Paulette was born in Sharon, PA and raised in several locations while her father pursued his education as a Methodist minister.  She left home upon graduation from Wahconah Regional High School in Dalton, MA to start her diverse career path that included inner city community worker, taxi driver, auto parts delivery driver, Theater Technical Director at Hampshire College, camp facilities manager for the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, Help Desk Operator for Walt Disney World and ending as A/V Production Technician at Lakeland United Methodist Church.
In 1981, Paulette graduated from Grove City College in Grove City, PA, the alma mater of her father and mother, with a major in Communications and Theater.
In 2009 Paulette moved to Elkin, NC to assist her elderly father until his passing in 2018.
Even though she was bedridden during the last several years of her life, Paulette will be  remembered for her laughter, her insights and her heart for the marginalized and down-trodden by her two sisters: Jeanette McCauley of Lexington Park, MD and Loretta Austin, currently an RV nomad with her dog, Rownen.  She is predeceased by her parents, Rev. Paul and Margery Jean (Taylor) McCauley, and sister, Rebecca McCauley.
