Paul served in the US Navy and South Carolina National Guard, and was employed by Meritor, Inc. in Rock Hill, SC before recently retiring.  He studied voice at Wingate College, enjoyed singing, the outdoors, and vacation trips with his children.  Surviving are three children, Jeremy Sims (Jennifer), Madison Baker (Gary), and Colton Tucker; three granddaughters, McKinnley, Leah, and Reece Sims;  his mother, Margaret Tucker; sister Christy Harmon, brothers Ed Tucker (Nancy), and Richard Tucker; special nieces and nephews, Emily Tucker (Ty), Greta Tucker, Michelle Tucker, Amanda Gibson (Harley) and Stephen Tucker.

A graveside service will be held  at 11:00a.m.,  June 23, 2018 at Forsyth Memorial Park in at Winston Salem.
