On Saturday, Dec 3, Marjorie Jean Dana, beloved mother and grandmother passed away at SECU Hospice Home in Yadkinville. She was 93 years old. Born to Margaret and Walter Woessner, she graduated from Perrysville High School in Perrysville, Pa. and later in life obtained an Associate RN degree from Kent State University in Ohio. She worked at several physician offices and the local hospital in Geneva, OH for many years. After retiring she worked part-time at several Long Term Care facilities in the Ashtabula area.
Marjorie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Jonesville and served on the Altar Guild. She loved gardening, canning, and took much pleasure in mowing her lawn. In the winter her neighbors would find her shoveling snow, her "winter sport." She also enjoyed cooking and baking special dishes for family celebrations and church functions. Her other hobbies were reading, crocheting, and sewing. She loved cats and rescued many abandoned kittens and there was always at least one (or several) in the home. She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the United States, attending yearly World War II Naval Veteran reunions.
Mrs. Dana is survived by her three children, Margaret (Peggy) Reikowsky of State Road, James R. Dana, Jr., Edward M. Dana (Lynda), 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and her brother William Gohdes (Wanda Stitt).
A Memorial Service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church. Friday, December 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Conducted by Pastor Denise Henry.
