Lucille Mackie Moseley, 94, died March 5, 2024 at Hugh Chatham Health. She was born in Yadkin County Nov 6, 1929 to Dallas and Ethel Bryant Mackie. She graduated from Yadkinville High School. She attended High Point College until she met her future husband, John Moseley with which she spent forty seven wonderful years. She supported John as he ran the family business and was later joined by their two children Jay and Janet. She was a member of Elkin First Baptist Church where she served on several committees and played with the senior handbell choir. She was active in the Elkin Community serving as president of the Junior Woman's Club and a leader and volunteer for the Cub Scouts and Brownies.
She enjoyed walking with her friends at Elkin Municipal Park and spending time at her residence at Emerald Isle, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband John F. Moseley, Jr. sister Edith McGee and brother Roger Mackie and granddaughter Laura Dixon.
She is survived by her daughter Janet Moseley (Jan Adams) of Elkin and son Jay Moseley (Melissa) of Mt.Airy. Grandchildren, James Moseley and Kristen Ho. Several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Very important to Lucille were two of her great grandchildren Jasmine Mackie Ho and Dalton Moseley Ho who came with their father, T C Ho from Hong Kong to visit their beloved Granny every summer and Christmas holiday.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 2:00p.m. in the chapel of Elkin First Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Johnson and Justin Bell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
The family suggests that any memorials be made to First Baptist Church 110 Gwyn Ave. Elkin, NC 28621 or Elkin Parks and Recreation 399 Highway 268, Elkin, NC 28621.
