ELKIN

Kathleen Cochrane Snyder, 92, of Elkin died Saturday, May 12, 2018. at Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. She was born March 5, 1926 to Donald W. and Cornelia Carter Cochrane. She was a graduate of Elkin High School and was a merchant in Elkin for many years as owner of Ed Snyder's and Elk Car Wash.  She was a member of the Elkin Garden Club, Elkin Women's Club and the Elkin Merchants Association. Mrs Snyder was a member of Elkin Presbyterian Church where she served on the Congregational Care Committee, taught Sunday School, Bible School and was a Circle Member. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother.  Although she was known as "Kat" by many she will always be our "Baba".  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward R. Snyder, Jr. her son Edward R. Snyder, III.  brothers, Herbert, Donald and Paul Cochrane and sisters, Grace Vestal, Lubeth Gilliam.  She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Jo Mitchell (Mitch) of Greensboro; daughter-in-law Judy Webb Snyder of State Road; grandsons Dr. Jonathan R. Snyder (Courtney) of Elkin and Matthew E. Snyder (Margaret) of Charlotte and great grandchildren Webb, Roan and Caroline Snyder; sister, Joyce C. Marshall and sister-in-law Hazel Cochrane.

A graveside service will be held in Hollywood Cemetery, Tuesday May 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Dr. Bill Johnson
