Mr. Charles Louis Neaves, 82, of Asheville NC, formerly of Elkin NC, died peacefully with his family at his side on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the Solace Center of Asheville.
Mr. Neaves was born in Elkin Oct. 13, 1934 to Fred and Francis Lineberry Neaves. He attended Elkin City Schools and was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He enjoyed a successful and rewarding career in the textile industry. Mr. Neaves was a member of Elkin Presbyterian Church where he served as a Deacon, Elder, Youth Fellowship Advisor, and Sunday School Teacher. He also served as a Director of Gilvin Roth YMCA and a Trustee of Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Neaves was preceded in death by his parents and foster brother William (Bill) Price. Surviving are his wife, Edna Dillon Neaves of the home. One daughter, Celeste Neaves Griffin and husband Ben of Mansfield Center, CT. Two sons, Fred Louis Neaves II and wife Vicky of Cohasset, MA and Charles Dillon Neaves and wife Louise of State Road, NC, and three grandchildren, Jane Maxine Griffin, Charles Louis Neaves II and Caroline Chapman Neaves.

A graveside committal service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at Elkin Presbyterian Church at 2:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Stuart Taylor.
