Carey Dennis Thompson, 74, of State Road, NC passed away at his home.

Dennis was born in Durham, NC August 1st 1946 to Carey (Bill) and Pearl Warren Thompson. He Graduated from Aurilian Springs and Bladen Technical College with a degree in Police Science.  Dennis was a veteran having served in the US Army. He was first employed by Halifax EMC and retired with the rank of Captain from the NC Wildlife Resource Commission.

Surviving are: His mother, Pearl Thompson; three daughters, Carey Denise Thompson, Angela Thompson Ellington and Taylor Brittany Thompson.  Two step children William David Harris, III and Jessica Arrington.  Dennis was granddaddy to Martin Johns, Andrew Johns, Matthew White, Kimberlee Nance, Jordan Stainback and great granddaughter, Raynee Johns.

A memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Elkin. Conducted by Rev. Mike Shuford.
