Anna Weedon Harris Mayberry, 94, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. A native of Elkin, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Freeland and Alice Armfield Harris. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Matthew Chatham Mayberry and her sister, Kate Harris Kelley.

Anna lived a long, full life, as wife, mother, homemaker and role model devoted to her husband and two sons. A gentle, healing presence along with a warm, wonderful smile that was uplifting and genuinely full of love for everyone she encountered. Her smile had a way of making you feel better.

She was a thoughtful listener and active in her churches in Elkin, North Carolina and Orlando, Florida. She often brought a creative flair while helping create banners, floral arrangements and other decorations at the Loch Haven Art Center and at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Florida and Galloway Memorial Episcopal Church in Elkin.

Her loving survivors include her two sons: Richard Mayberry (Martha) of Pisgah Forest, NC and Theodore "Ted" Percy Mayberry (Anthony Nguyen) of Orlando, Florida; grandson John Chatham Mayberry of Eagle, CO, and her brother, Edwin "Abie" Freeland Harris, Jr (Susan Arrendell) of Raleigh, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Anna will be held Sat 2:00 p.m. Saturday May 10.2025 .at Galloway Memorial Episcopal Church in Elkin, NC

John Kennedy, funeral director is assisting the Mayberry family with funeral arrangements.
